Commercial premises
Parsec Fire Doors repairs, upgrades and replaces commercial fire doors across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas. We work in offices, warehouses, industrial units, shops and managed premises, planning works around how the building operates.
From a single defective doorset to a full building assessment and remedial programme, we cover the complete range of commercial fire door work.
Door-by-door inspections arranged through our specialist inspection contractor, with asset referencing.
Correcting gaps, seals, ironmongery and closing faults where repairable.
FD30 and FD60 doorsets supplied and fitted where the specification requires it.
Replacement or re-fixing where the existing frame is unsuitable.
Renewal of perimeter seals to suit the doorset specification.
Correct number, grade and fixing of hinges on each doorset.
Overhead and concealed closers supplied, replaced and adjusted.
Compatible ironmongery so doors operate and latch correctly.
Fire-rated glazing and beads where vision panels form part of the doorset.
Small access doorsets that are often overlooked.
Doors separating plant and equipment areas from occupied space.
Circulation and escape route doors in multi-storey premises.
Fire-resisting doorsets in warehouse and production environments where applicable.
Fitting to the manufacturer's instructions with closing and latching checks.
Fire-resisting doorsets are typically placed where a compartment line or escape route needs protecting. Not every doorway in these areas is a fire door — the fire strategy for the building determines which openings require one.
Send your door schedule, report or photographs and we will quote the work required.
Already have a fire door inspection report or FRA action list? Attach it securely to the enquiry form and we will price the remedial or replacement work door by door.
High traffic, trolleys, deliveries and repeated fit-outs take their toll. These are the defects we record most often in commercial premises.
Doors are assessed individually and given a unique reference so findings can be tracked across floors, buildings and future visits. Each door is assessed for leaf and frame condition, gaps, seals, hinges, closers, latching, glazing, signage and any alterations, with photographs taken where they help explain a defect. Findings are reported door by door with defect descriptions and priorities, which makes it straightforward to budget and brief contractors.
Fire door inspectionsA large proportion of the defects recorded in commercial buildings are repairable. Gaps and alignment, seals, hinges, closers, latching faults, unsuitable ironmongery and localised damage can normally be corrected where the door's construction is known and the frame is sound, which is usually the quicker and more economical route.
Fire door repairs & remedialsA new doorset may be appropriate where the construction cannot be established, the leaf or frame is severely damaged, alterations have compromised the assembly, the glazing arrangement is unsuitable or remedial cost approaches that of replacement. A failed inspection result does not automatically mean a door must be replaced.
Fire door installationCommercial buildings have to keep working while fire door work is carried out. We plan around trading hours, staff and tenant movements, deliveries and warehouse operations, and agree access to tenanted areas, plant rooms and secure zones in advance. Evening or weekend working can be discussed and arranged where it is available and practical for the site.
Larger schedules are phased floor by floor or zone by zone so that circulation and escape routes remain usable and areas are handed back progressively. We protect finishes, clear waste as we go and leave each area clean and secure.
Where a portfolio, industrial estate or group of managed buildings needs bringing up to a consistent standard, we can scope the whole programme rather than treating each door as a separate job. That starts with a site assessment across the sites, followed by a single itemised schedule showing what is repairable and what we recommend replacing.
Works can then be prioritised by risk and phased across buildings and budget periods, with consistent referencing and records so the position across the estate stays clear. Programme timings and sequencing are agreed with you for the specific sites involved.
We agree the buildings, areas and doors to be covered and any access constraints.
Doors are assessed and, where replacement is likely, measured on site. Where a formal inspection report is required, we arrange one through our specialist inspection contractor.
We set out door by door whether repair or replacement is the appropriate route.
A written quotation itemises remedial works and any replacement doorsets.
Works are sequenced around trading, operational and access requirements.
Repairs or replacements are completed, checked and recorded as appropriate.
