Fire Door Remedial Works Schedule Template
A plain CSV schedule for tracking fire door remedial works from the point a report lands to the point every door is either completed or accounted for. Free to download and use, with no form, no email address and no sign-up.
What It Is For
If you hold a fire door inspection report or a fire risk assessment action list, the hard part is rarely reading it — it is tracking dozens or hundreds of individual doors through pricing, works and sign-off without losing the ones nobody could get into. This template gives you one row per door and one place for that whole history.
It suits managing agents, landlords with portfolios, facilities and estates teams, and fire risk assessors who want a client to be able to act on their findings in an orderly way.
What It Is Not
- · Not a fire door inspection template. It has no assessment fields and does not judge whether a door is satisfactory.
- · Not certification of any kind, and not a statement that a door, a block or a building is compliant.
- · Not a substitute for a competent fire door inspection or a fire risk assessment — it is designed to be filled in from one.
- · Not a source of priorities or timescales. It carries over whatever your source report assigned and invents nothing.
The Columns, and How to Use Them
Fifteen columns, one row per door. Delete anything you do not need — it is a starting point, not a fixed format.
| Column | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Door Reference | The reference the door already has in your report, door schedule or asset register. Keep the source numbering rather than inventing a new one. |
| Building/Block | Which building, block or site the door belongs to. Essential once a schedule covers more than one address. |
| Door Location | A plain description of where the door is — floor, core, room or flat — so someone unfamiliar with the reference can find it. |
| Source Report/Action Reference | Which inspection report or fire risk assessment action list the item came from, including its date or item number. |
| Defect/Action | What the source document said, copied across rather than reworded, so the schedule can always be traced back. |
| Proposed Work | What is actually being proposed to address the item. This is where a contractor's scope differs from the report wording. |
| Repair/Replace/TBC | Whether the intention is repair, replacement, or not yet decided pending assessment of the existing doorset. |
| Priority From Source Report | Carry over whatever priority the original report assigned. The template does not apply its own priority rating or any timescale. |
| Access Status | Accessible, no access, appointment arranged, or similar. Keeps unreached doors visible instead of quietly disappearing. |
| Quote/Cost | The priced figure for that line, so the schedule doubles as a budget and can be split into phases. |
| Work Status | Not started, in progress, complete, deferred or cancelled. One field to sort and filter a long programme by. |
| Completion Date | The date the work on that door was finished. |
| Works Completed | What was actually done, which is not always identical to what was proposed. Record variations here. |
| Photo/Record Link | Where photographs or supporting records for that door are stored, if they exist. |
| Outstanding Notes | Anything unresolved: deferred items, no-access history, recommendations not instructed, or work for another trade. |
A Simple Workflow
- 1Copy the items from your inspection report or FRA action list into the template, keeping the original references and wording
- 2Send it out for pricing, so quoted costs sit against the same door references
- 3Programme the work — by priority as your report set it, by block, or by budget period
- 4Record what was actually completed against each door, with dates
- 5Keep outstanding and no-access doors visible until they are genuinely resolved or formally closed
- 6Retain the finished schedule with your building fire-safety records for the next review or handover
