Door references
Every entry tied to the plot, flat, room or asset reference you already use, so a later inspection can match record to door without guesswork.
Guide
Once the works are finished, what should the paperwork actually show? This guide sets out a sensible record trail for responsible persons and property managers — and is clear about the limits of what a contractor’s record can and cannot say.
The exact content varies with the work and the products involved. These are the items that most often matter when someone reviews the file later.
Every entry tied to the plot, flat, room or asset reference you already use, so a later inspection can match record to door without guesswork.
Which inspection report, fire risk assessment action list or agreed schedule the works came from, including its date or version.
What was actually done to each door — components renewed, adjustments made, leaves or doorsets replaced — rather than a single line covering a whole block.
Where photographs were taken during the work, they are supplied with the record. We describe them as photographs of the work, not as inspection evidence.
Where doorsets or components arrive with product or manufacturer information, it is passed on. Availability depends entirely on the products used and what the supplier provides.
Doors not reached, work deferred by you, and anything we recommended that fell outside the agreed scope — kept visible rather than quietly dropped.
When each door was completed and when access was attempted, so the record stands up when someone reviews it a year later.
Where we advised replacement, further investigation or work by another trade, the recommendation stays on the record whether or not it was instructed.
For records associated with new doorsets and installation work, see our guide on installation and handover documentation.
Parsec Fire Doors records the works we carried out. We do not issue third-party inspection certification, per-door certificates or any statement that a building as a whole is compliant. Those are not ours to give.
Where independent confirmation is wanted after remedial works, a formal reinspection can be arranged through a specialist fire door inspection contractor. Product performance evidence comes from the manufacturer of the doorset or component.
Tell us what your records need to show and we will work to your door references from the start. You can attach an existing inspection report or FRA action list to your enquiry.
